Ohtani Basketball depends on volunteers to run. Family members, former players, temple members, community members and friends all give generously of themselves to make Ohtani basketball a success. Please strongly consider volunteering for one or more of the following.

• Coach - Promote Ohtani basketball values of teamwork and compassion during practices and games. Helps each player appreciate and accept their strengths and weaknesses and works to enhance their basketball and sportsmanship skills.
• Team Manager - Works closely with coach to communicate information to team families. Managers coordinate scorekeeping and timekeeping responsibilities, snack duties, coach appreciation gifts, tournament logistics, uniforms, etc.
• Team Representative - Attends monthly Basketball Board meetings to provide feedback to Board about Basketball program for their team.

Committees

Ohtani Basketball Activities are organized by family volunteers. Please join one or more committees to support all of our teams.

• Jamboree Ad Booklet Committee - Organizes ad solicitation, collects ad revenues from team representatives, collects team photos and rosters, edits and produces booklet.
• Jamboree Planning Committee - Plans and organizes Jamboree Invitational Tournament for “E” and “D” teams. Subcommittees include food, gyms, t-shirt, publicity, etc.
• Bazaar Planning Committee - Plans and organizes Basketball family support of Berkeley Higashi Honganji Temple Annual Summer Bazaar. Works closely with Temple Bazaar Committee to organize food preparation and sales, games, and publicity.
• Basketball Board - Responsible for overall management, oversight, and decision making for the Ohatani Basketball organization. Works closely with Berkeley Higashi Honganji Temple Board and Reverend.
