Preparing for Girls League Games

For team managers and coaches: Please read new game rules and take special note of the sportsmanship requirements!)

Just some reminders about preparing for games:

Go to the Enchantees website and print out the game rules and the game set up information http://www.enchantees.org/EBGALInformation/tabid/59/Default.aspx
Bring the game rules to each game--they're supposed to be at the clock table.

1) Assign snack/time/score duties to parents. See game set-up sheet for which duties home vs visiting teams are responsible for.

Got game in 7th grade? NCAA says you're a prospect

Seventh grade boys are now considered prospects, thereby placing limits on college basketball recruiting at the middle school level.

The NCAA voted Thursday to change the definition of a prospect from ninth grade to seventh grade — for men's basketball only — to nip a trend in which some college coaches were working at private, elite camps and clinics for seventh- and eighth-graders. The NCAA couldn't regulate those camps because those youngsters fell below the current cutoff.

Ohtani Training Night

We will host our annual Ohtani Training Night on Dec. 2 and 3, 7-9pm at Albany Middle School. It's a time to bring together our Ohtani Basketball community and learn from each other. Parents and players are all invited to attend. The main purpose to to give the families of D and E level teams a chance to experience running a basketball game. We will focus on refining our skills as scorekeepers, time keepers and referees. The players will get a chance to play a simulated game to help them prepare for the upcoming season opener.
